The risk, of course, is that measurement becomes synonymous with control. But it doesn\u2019t have to. Measurement can also be about illumination\u2014about making growth, understanding, and intent visible rather than hidden, so that interpretation isn\u2019t left to guesswork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">Written standards\u2014whether in education, professional practice, or workplace policy\u2014define destinations and constraints. They are designed to travel across contexts, roles, and experience levels. What they cannot do is specify every pathway without losing the flexibility that makes them usable in real work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">That gap is not a failure of standards. It is the space where interpretation happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">When interpretation remains invisible, expectations turn into hidden curriculum and private lore. People work hard to meet standards, but often do so with uneven understanding of what those standards are really asking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Standards say what counts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Interpretation shows what that looks like here<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9ac00cf961d1ea846fe5a532228b76c6\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>Learning Metrix supports organizations in making that interpretive space more visible and shared\u2014without turning it into rules, prescriptions, or assessments.
